I’ve not been paid…
The Money Talk 💰
Let’s face it – nobody likes chasing payments. It’s about as fun as a kazoo concert in a library! But sometimes these things happen, so here’s what you need to know.
First Things First
Before your gig, you and the venue should have agreed on when and how you’ll be paid. Maybe it’s right after your last encore, or perhaps it’s “within 48 hours” – whatever works for both of you. Just make sure it’s crystal clear!
When Things Go Quiet 🤫
If your agreed payment time has whooshed by faster than a drummer’s solo, here’s what to do:
- Give it a reasonable grace period (about 24 hours) – sometimes people get caught up in the Monday morning mayhem.
- Reach out to the venue through your usual contact method.
- If you’re still hearing nothing but crickets, try alternative contact methods.
When to Give Us a Shout 📣
Still no joy? That’s where we come in! We take these situations seriously (because your time and talent deserve respect), so don’t hesitate to let us know. You can do this by sending an email to support@gigbridge.com.au.
How We Help 🤝
When you report a payment issue:
- We’ll investigate the situation. (There are always at least three sides to every story!)
- We’ll work to help resolve the payment dispute.
- If we notice a pattern of payment problems with a venue, we might move to suspend their profile to protect other performers.
Prevention is Better Than Cure 🎵
While we hope you never need this article, here are some top tips:
- Always get payment terms agreed before you start tuning up.
- Consider using our recommended performance agreement template.
- Keep your communications clear and professional.
Remember, we’ve got your back! While we can’t guarantee payments faster than a speed metal guitar solo, we’ll always work to help resolve these situations fairly.
No forms, no fuss – just let us know what’s happening! ✨
