When Do I Need to Verify?

We use One Time Passcodes (OTPs) to make sure you’re really you (and not someone pretending to be you in a fake moustache and glasses 🥸).

You’ll receive these OTP codes when:

• You’re creating your shiny new account.
• You’re adding or updating your email address on your profile. (It’s optional, but quite handy!)
• You’re adding or updating your mobile number on your profile. (It’s also optional, but super useful!)
• You’re making changes to your contact details in either your account or profile.

Important Bits to Know

Time is of the Essence! ⏰

Your OTP is like a shooting star – it’s only valid for 10 minutes! Got distracted by a phone call or your cat walking across your keyboard? No worries! Just hit the resend button for a fresh code.

Waiting for Your Code? 📱

Sometimes your code might be fashionably late to the party. While most codes arrive faster than you can say “verification”, they can occasionally run at the speed of a thousand startled snails, and may take upwards of 5 minutes to reach you. In rare cases (we’re talking unicorn-rare), it might take up to 10 minutes – blame it on network traffic having a bit of a traffic jam!

Oops, Wrong Code? 🤔

Entered the wrong code? Don’t panic! You’ll just see a friendly error message. You can try again, or if you need a fresh code, just hit that resend button. There’s no limit to how many times you can try – we’re not running a “three strikes and you’re out” system here!

Both Email and Mobile – Why Both? 📧

We need you to verify both your email and mobile number. Why? Because we want to make sure we can always get important information to you, no matter what. Think of it as having a backup plan for your backup plan!

Email being shy? Some email clients can be a bit overprotective and might send our OTP to your spam folder. If you can’t spot the code in your inbox, take a peek in your spam/junk folder – it might be hiding in there!
