Our first 28 days…

Can you believe its already been four weeks since we launched GigBridge, and what a whirlwind it’s been!
We’ve seen our first performers sign up, and received loads of valuable feedback from performers and venues alike. And, yes, we’ll be the first to admit, we’ve learned some really important lessons along the way.
Let’s dive into what we’ve discovered and where we’re heading next.
The chicken or the egg dilemma…
The most common question we’re getting from our early-adopter is:
“Where are the venues?“
We get it. We’re facing the classic chicken-and-egg scenario that many new platforms encounter. Performers want venues, venues want performers, and someone has to take the first step. Right now, the live music venues we’ve spoken to are telling us they’d really like to see a solid range of performers already on the platform before they commit.
That’s why we’re focusing on building our performer base first – think of it as laying the foundations for a thriving musical ecosystem!
What performers are loving…
We chatted with Jess Howell last week, and her feedback really brightened our day.
Jess singled out the profile booking calendar as her favourite feature. Interestingly, what convinced Jess to sign up, was the fact that GigBridge doesn’t charge commission fees for bookings made through the platform.
No sneaky percentage cuts here – what you earn stays in your pocket, not someone else’s. We’re hoping to have this interview up on our socials in the near future. (Thanks Jess!)
Free until September 2025…
To help overcome this initial hurdle, we’ve decided to make GigBridge completely free until 30th September 2025. We’re aiming to welcome around 50 performers over the month of April. This critical mass will help us build the “sizzle” that venues are looking for.
Remember, we’re always here to help you with any questions you have, and to help you build outstanding profiles so you’re ready for when the first venues come onboard.
Supporting our mission…
Obviously, running a platform without charging isn’t sustainable long-term, which is why we’ve set up a GoFundMe campaign. This will help cover our operating expenses until September and give us another channel to spread the word about GigBridge.
We’re reaching out to anyone and everyone in Australia who’s philanthropically inclined and can see the positive benefits GigBridge will bring in connecting musicians and live music venues.
Getting the word out…
Next week, we’re expanding our outreach beyond social media. We’ll be contacting community print media and radio stations across the ACT, New South Wales and Victoria.
Local media plays a crucial role in supporting local musicians as well as venues, so we’re excited to start these conversations.
Let us know if you happen to see or hear anything in your local area!
New features coming soon!
We’re not just sitting around waiting for sign-ups – we’re constantly improving GigBridge!
Here’s what’s coming in the next month or so:
- Calendar Availability Settings: Users will soon be able to update their profile booking calendars with preferred availability, making it even easier to manage your gig schedule.
- Call Out Posts: This brilliant feature will allow both performers and venues to connect with other users. Whether you’re a solo artist looking for a backing vocalist or a venue searching for the perfect Saturday night band, Call Out Posts will be your ticket to making it happen!
